Petition regarding a second road to Sisters Beach
Concerned community members have started a petition in response to Waratah-Wynyard Council’s recent decision to investigate a second road into Sisters Beach. Please note this petition was not instigated by the SBCA as the group is yet to hold a meeting for members to discuss the issue.
Next SBCA meeting - Thursday 6th August.
Petition
“We the undersigned residents and friends of Sisters Beach do not support the recent motion that was passed at Council's July meeting to investigate a second road into Sisters Beach. We draw Council's attention to the high level of concern expressed by Sisters Beach residents and friends to the motion and we request that the motion be reversed at its next meeting.
We request that Council instead outline a plan for how Council will work with the Sisters Beach community and relevant authorities to develop a holistic approach to Fire Safety planning for Sisters Beach - a plan that respects our natural environment and heritage and our aspirations for the future of Sisters Beach, including land usage, building standards and education.”
